Medicross Strathpine is a mixed billing practice we offer bulk-billing to concession card holders, children under the age of 16 years old and patients over the age of 65 years old. New patients over the age of 65 years will be charged a private fee for their first visit, all further visits will be bulk billed. .
Fees may vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation and are determined by the GP. Payment of fees is required at the time of consultation.
STANDARD CONSULTATION
A consultation that lasts less than 20 minutes: $70.00
Medicare rebate: $42.85
Out of pocket: $27.15
LONG CONSULTATION
Between 20-40 minutes: $120.00
Medicare rebate: $82.90
Out of pocket: $37.10
New Patients who hold concession cards will be charged the following fees:
Short appointments: $50.00 (rebate: $42.85)
Long appointments: $100.00 (rebate: $82.90)
Bulk Billing not available on Saturdays or Public Holidays.
Medical assistance is available after hours through Dial a Home Doctor
Patients are encouraged to take advantage of free vaccines made available by the Federal and State Governments. Please ask our nursing staff or your doctor for further details.
We try to manage all appointments as punctually as possible. However, due to the unpredictable nature of a medical surgery – doctors do frequently run behind time. We regret any inconvenience caused due to these delays. Please feel free to contact our surgery staff to confirm whether your doctor is running on time BEFORE you arrive for your appointment.
Should you no longer require your appointment please let us know. We do charge a NO SHOW fee if you do not arrive for your appointment.

In order to monitor your health and fulfil our ethical and legal responsibilities, we require that you attend your doctor (or if your usual doctor is not available, one of the other doctors) in order to receive further prescriptions for your medications.
Whatever your preferred language, we can help you arrange an interpreter to assist with any language barriers. We also arrange interpreters through NABS, National Auslan Interpreter Service, for our deaf patients.
This medical practice uses the Telephone Interpreter Service 1300 131 450 when required. We can arrange an “over the phone” service or an “on site” service with 48 hours notice.

Our practice can provide Health Assessments & Care Plans through our CDM Health Nurse.
Results are reviewed by the doctors and acted upon in a timely manner with your health in mind. We will contact you if necessary.
The policies on receiving and returning phone calls and electronic communications may vary between our independent Medical Practitioners. All urgent phone and electronic communications are given to the practice’s Registered Nurse on duty to triage and follow up with the Medical Practitioner concerned. All non-urgent patient communication with our independent Medical Practitioner is passed on by our reception team. All correspondence is triaged to ensure the information is given to the appropriate staff member or Independent Medical Practitioner in a timely manner. request from our reception staff.
